1956 - 1959

Signed on as a three year regular in
June 1956 and did basic training at 5(Regular) Sqdn at Gallowgate,
From there to 1TR for trade training as a Radio Tech. The regulars moved to
Baghdad Lines about July/August1956.
After trade training posted to the newly formed 47 Guided Weapons Regt RA Signals
Troop
The troop formed at Bulford before moving to Haig Lines, Crookham Crossroads
to join the RA regt.
I was attached to 3 Bty and in Sept/Oct went with them to a practice camp at
the White Sands Missille Range in New Mexico USA.
February 1959 the regt. went to Napier Barracks Dortmund.
I left the army in June 1959 being demobbed from Chester.
